I got this from: http://beauty-healthtips.blogspot.com/. I am not a huge soda drinker but I do enjoy a diet soda when we go out. If those things about Coke are true….. YIKES!!
Water or Coke ?
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down ones metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
So, are you going to have a glass of Coke instead of a glass of water? Think about it again.
Have a refreshing day!

I’m sitting here enjoying a Vanilla Coke Zero as I read. My stomach hurts now. Does that mean my insides are squeaky clean after drinking a Coke?

Sounds like it. I think I am going to have to try the science experiments and see if they are true. The steak one freaks me out!

I am a crazy diet coke drinker but right now I am drinking water. I have always know the dangers and risks of drinking too much soda. I guess I like walking on the wild side. 🙂

I’ve read stuff like that before about coke. It’s kind of amazing to think that it does things like that and yet we pour it into our bodies. 😯 And I’m guilty of pouring it into mine! I try not to drink it too much though. I’m so not good at drinking water. I try but I just don’t remember to. UGH!

That is very interesting about the water. I know here in Florida a lot of children get gull stones because they drink more gatoraid and other drinks besides water. I make sure my kids get plenty of water. 🙂

I’m drinking water now… are you happy? 🙂 My diet coke was empty and it’s too late to open another one. Iced tea is my favorite though. Thanks for the interesting facts.

I’m cutting back as we speak and it’s a huge struggle. Makes me wonder if they still put crack in this stuff. BIGGER PICTURE☞ After doing the math I found my family spent nearly $600 a year on this stuff. Ouch.

Ah Man! I love my Diet Cola! I have read that it is one of the worst things for your skin and for your bones though.
Drat! Do you have any better alternatives than good ol H2O?
