•Advice from the ultimate marriage survival guide: the Bible
•Stats, quizzes, sidebars, and study questions related to this “relationally challenged” time in history
•Practical helps for negotiating kids, work, sex, money, and dirty laundry–sometimes all in the same evening

And A Valley of Betrayal
For reasons beyond her control, Sophie finds herself alone in the war-torn Spanish countryside. What was once a thriving paradise has become a battleground for fascist soldiers and Spanish patriots. It doesn’t take long for Sophie to realize just how far from home she really is.
Caught in the middle of what is quickly becoming a bloody battleground, she receives tragic news, but remaining in Spain is her only option. The route to safety is blocked and fighting surrounds her. On her darkest night, Sophie takes refuge with a brigade of international compatriots. It is among these volunteers, through the use of her fiancées camera and her art, that she pledges to make the plight of the Spanish people known around the world.
How can I win these books you ask? Well here’s what you need to do:
Question for Week 3 – Since this is my Birthday week tell me something that you have done on someone else’s birthday that was really special. Did you make a cake when you usually buy one? Or what about making a scrapbook for 6 months?
Have a “Curl up in a Blanket with a Good Book” Day!

Alright, I’m finally going to jump in here! I’ll tell the story of my daughter’s birthday last year. We told her we couldn’t arrange for a party that year due to one reason or another, I don’t remember specifically. We actually planned two different surprise parties instead! One at Cold Stone Creamery, where my side of the family (all from out of town) was there waiting on her…and the other with my in-laws (also from out of town) at the movies later that day. She was so tickled at the whole experience.
🙂 Also, I NEVER do store bought cakes! Hello…twenty dollars?!?! No thanks. My family totally prefers my homemade jello cakes with whipped cream topping, anyway!
And now, I’m craving it. Sigh.
I’ll post the link as soon as I have it up!

Today was my daughter’s 9th birthday, so this is a timely question. She LOVES the store “Build-A-Bear,” so yesterday I took her and her cousin to get new bears. They loved it. They laughed and giggled through the whole mall, made their new bears, dressed and named them, and played in the halls of the mall having a good time for quite awhile afterwards. Then I offered to take them out for some cake, but she said she wanted to make one with me instead. How sweet. So last night we baked a homemade, sugar-free cake. Yum!

I took my daughter to New York City 2 years ago to celebrate our birthdays together! The best part of it was getting 2nd row seats for Radio City Music Hall! Best birthday for both of us :o)

This year for my daughter’s birthday, we spent the day at “grandma’s” house. The best part was the cool fall day, perfect for jumping and playing in the leaves.
Grandma made a special cake and we had spagehetti.
To end the perfect day, we went to see High School Musical 3.
And to record the day, my daughter has a new digital camera to practice her photography skills.
