anniversary

Today we have a new President.  The first African American President and history was made.  Despite differences, I am excited that our country took this stand.  I was glad to watch this history with my children and they will be able to remember this moment their children will read about.

I also have been thinking of this year for our family.  This year will be the fifth year anniversary of our youngest son placed in our home, our oldest will become an official teenager, my hubby will turn 40, and it will be our 15th wedding anniversary.  WOW!  It’s an exciting and changing time for us.

I am excited about this coming year.  Only time will tell what will happen, but I do know that it’s all flowing through the hand of God!

What does this year hold for you?  Do you see any big changes up ahead?

Have a “Changing” Day!

Have a “Charming” Day!

Yes, it’s a busy month for us.  Mother-In-Law’s B Day, The Anniversary of my mother’s B Day and Death (she passed away 20 years ago today), My Marriage Anniversary, Our son’s B Day, and my blog anniversary….whew!!!  I am not even sure if I got it all.

Anyways, since my Mom passed away on September 24th and then her brother (my Uncle) passed away two years to the date, I wanted something positive on this day.  I got married on it.  And boy did I turn it around.

I am married to the best man alive..sorry ladies 🙂

Happy 14th Anniversary Hunny Bunches of O’s!

I LOVE YOU!

Have a “Lovie Dovie” Day!

So I have been blessed with the best husband in the world!!  We have had 13 married years together and two wonderful boys.  I just couldn’t ask for anyone better!

Our oldest son’s birthday is two days and two years after we were married so it can be difficult planning for a birthday party and the anniversary.  Sometimes I feel like I haven’t put as much energy into the anniversary, but God gave me this idea.  I did a present for each year for that we  have been married.  Each present (most small and a couple of larger ones) were some of his favorite treats and such.  I also wrapped each one and added the year and a note like

“I am so glad I haven’t driven you to drink…yet” for a bottle of root-beer wrapped in a paper bag of course.

“It’s always nice to know that year after year and day after day you will be back” for a Terminator movie.

“You light up my life” for a auto light thing he wanted.

I left gifts in the order in which my husband would go in the morning.  1st one in the closet.  2nd one in the bathroom, etc  I spread them out through the day and even took a couple to his work.

It was a lot of fun.  This could also work for a child’s birthday for every year they have been alive.

I hope that you enjoyed this idea.   Please make sure to share your tips or thoughts.
