This past weekend I had a party for friends to come and bring items they wanted to trade (no not children) for a swapping party.  It was a smaller turnout but I had a great time and got some great goodies.  Even though we were different sizes we all had different size clothing to trade.  Some people have lost or gained weight and need to get rid of things.  We also traded home decor, lotions/soaps (new), books/magazines, games/toys, etc!

I can’t tell you how much fun it was and plus I got about 15-30 items for FREE!  I love that!

So gather your friends over and start swapping!  Plus you have people to tell give you opinions on how things look.

…Crunchy Clean.  I am very concerned about the chemicals we use in our home.  My mother died of cancer and just breathing some of the cleaners that are on the market just makes me feel like a disease is coming on.  And read some of the warning labels on most …. YIKES!!!!  Well I was really impressed with this next ETSY Shop.  So Let’s learn more shall we?  And don’t forget to enter the contest!

PLEASE NOTE: I have seen many other detergents claim to be “cloth diaper safe”, but they are not if they contain soap or enzymes (and borax has been said to ruin elastic, as well). Soap has potential to build up on diapers, enzymes can cause a horrible open rash on your DC. Please beware and check ingredients for your child’s and diaper’s sake!

Plenty of people use the diaper safe detergent for ALL of their laundry with great results. We use regular on all of our clothes and DD’s messy clothes, and diaper on our cloth diapers —
The difference, you ask? The regular detergent has soap in it to give it the extra “OOMPH” of cleaning tough stains as well as a few other ingredients which help with inorganic stains and dirt. The diaper detergent has safe ingredients for diapers (NO SOAP, ENZYMES OR BORAX) that are realllly great on organic waste and cleaning your diapers.

Have a “Cleansed” Day!

I need a girl in the family!  Case in point:

Last night, in Phoenix AZ I might add -the land of 113 degree temps, we went to a local racetrack for a car spectacular event.

We were able to see a robot breathe fire (which is very helpful with over 100 degree temps).  He ate some cars and left them in a fiery mess after he was done.  (Check him out – http://www.robosaurus.com/ )

from http://www.flickr.com/photos/jerseyjj/543078250/

There were loud jet cars with lots of fumes.

Cigarettes, bathrooms that smelled like barf, and really fun conversations regarding some women’s choices in professions (legal and not).

And to top off the evening, my hubby found a grasshopper on a seat and placed in on my little ones hand. I have no pic as I forgot the camera for this momentous event.  Can you imagine that?  But the grasshopper stayed for most of the show and I think enjoyed himself.

You know what’s funny.  Of course I would never choose this event for myself –

“Hey Sally, I got me these tickets for this car spectacular.  You wanna go with me?”

The look on the kids faces is what you go for.  It’s worth the heat, bugs, and even the smell of melting tires.  Although, I do prefer a little more enviormentally friendly events.

P.S. – Did I mention that we passed a nice air conditioned mall and an IKEA on the way there?  🙂

Have a “Racing” Day!

I couldn’t do a tip on just one R it had to be 3.  Of course my R tip is going to be on Reduce, Reuse, and Recycling.

As I have stated before these are in proper order.  Reducing first, Reusing second, and finally Recycle.

Today’s tip is easy.  The reusable bags are everywhere and are very cheap (unless you go for the designer ones).  Do you have any?  Pick up a few and keep them in a basket in your car.  Just don’t forget to take them in the store when you go (like I have done on a few occassions).  Some store will even give you a credit for bringing in your own bags.  Since grocery prices are on the rise I’ll take any credit I can get!  How about you?

Have a “(R)elaxing” Day!

P.S. – To enter my contest all you have to do in link any of my A-Z tips on your blog and let me know you did so.  I will enter you in my contest to win some great products!  I will draw the prize after the Z tip.  It’s coming up quickly!  Check out the prize here:
