WAHM

Please tell me you don’t fall for the scam, do you?  You know the over priced chicken at the store labeled boneless skinless chicken breasts.  High way robbery!  I know, I know, you found a sale.  But I have to tell you keep that skin and bones.

You want proof:

1) Bake the whole chicken or just the chicken breasts with skin and bones and you will save cash first and formost.  For great fall off the bone chicken, take them and throw them in a casserole dish, cover with broth-homemade and covered in foil,  bake at 325 degrees for about 2 hours or until the temp gets to about 175.  YUMMY!

2) Now you will have bones to make our own chicken broth.  EASY!  Take parts of veggies that were gonna go (tops of washed carrots and celery, etc), throw in the bones and such, fill with seasonings and water and tada you have your own broth.  The broth is perfect in the freezer for when you need it.

3) Finally, you have better tasting chicken and you saved some cashola!  The skin helps protect you from the dredded dry chicken dinners we all know about.

So, just say no to boneless, skinless chicken and reach for the cheap pack.  I guarantee, money back, that this is super easy!

Have a “Skin and Bones” Day!

Don’t try to return the chicken breasts that you already have in the fridge.  Supermarkets don’t do well with returns 🙂 hahahaha.  Use them up and say goodbye!

Well It’s been fun but all good things must come to an end.  Tis Better To Give Than To Receive has officially ended or has it?  Of course, Thanksgiving is really “thanksliving” so we can do this all the time even when there is no contest.  But I think my readers already knew that.  What great stories and ideas you have all shared.

The final weeks winner is http://waytmi.wordpress.com/.  All the prizes from this week are going to be yours!!!!

Have a “New Begining” Day

Today is my 1st year blogging anniversary.  I have really enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and getting a chance to just to get some of this stuff out of my head. 🙂

I would like to share 5 goals for this next year:

  • Get a customized page/website.
  • See if I need to focus on the direction of the blog a little more.?.?.?
  • Learn more about the technical side of blogging
  • Discover ways to advertise on my blog
  • Finally, have as much fun as I am but keep a budget of time on it

So, if you have any words of wisdom in any of these areas, I would appreciate your comment as a blogiversary present.  Now, you wouldn’t withhold a present on my anniversary would you?  🙂

Two more things I have to add:

– Happy Fall, for those fortunate enough to actually have a fall.  Last night, during the weather, the weather person said, and I quote, “We are continuing to cool off.  The change of season is upon us.  Today the high for Phoenix was 101.  Currently it’s 93 degrees (at 9:55 pm).”  Also in the forecast was temps 102 and 103..yippee!!!  And to top it off they had the little fall leaves on today for the 7 day forecast.  I think I will get my jacket out.  It is feeling a bit nippy outside.

– As some of you are aware we are doing some work on our house.  In the process, we have a rocking chair that I am waiting to put elsewhere.  So it’s just kind of hanging around, in a very ackward place, in our family room.  My oldest has been enjoying it there so I asked him if he realized it is not going to be there for long.    In his interior design mode he said “WHAT?”  Given the fact that I think it’s very obvious it doesn’t belong I thought everyone was on the same page.  Guess not.

Have a “Helpful” Day!

Debbie aka The Real World Martha(S)

I am a big fan of thrift stores.  But I don’t mind that it’s not for everyone as that leaves more good stuff for me 🙂

So I had to get out of the house and thankfully Goodwill had a 50% off sale.  Could it get any better?

Now usually I don’t drop down that much $$ but I am starting to think of the holidays and we are doing some renovations to the house.  I also couldn’t resist the good deals on clothes, although couldn’t find much for hubby this time around.  And I got a mess of books, magazines, and homeschool materials.

Here are the goods:

And I’m not even sure I got it all.  I think a few books were left out.  I was very happy with my purchases and can’t wait to get started using a lot of them for gifts for Christmas.  You will see in coming posts some of the gifts that can be made.

Have a “Bargain Shopping” Day!  🙂

Not mine, but go over to Simple Mom and enter for some beautiful prizes.  Hey, wait a minute.  Doesn’t that mean that my chances are going to go down now?

Have a “Simply Beautiful” Day!

For me…

I am on a quest to write rotating menus for the entire year, in 4 month rotations.  I have one section done and just finished another when the computer, printer, went down.  I lost most of what I worked on.  It was saved throughout but then lost it in the end.  I wish I knew what happened, but I do know that my printer is mostly to blame, as if it detects low ink it is as stubborn as a mule and will not produce anything and thus froze up on me, and it was close to seeing a wall nearby (close up)!!!

All in all I lost about 8-10 hrs of work at least!!!  I was, am, so upset, but I do know that there are worse things to happen in life so you move on.  But I will say that the printer is on very thin ice with me!!!

Have a “Nice Printer” Day!

In the past I use to email back to anyone who would write a comment.  It’s been a fun way to build some friendships and such.  I know some people comment back on their own site.  I would be curious to here what you all do.  So you can leave me a comment letting me know what you do.

But for me, as we approach the new school year, ours starts on Aug 11, I have come to realize I will not be able to email everyone back anymore.  I will try and comment here so you can see.  If you, or I, have something that should be held in private I will not comment here but by email when I can.

Please be patient with me.  Adjusting to homeschooling the two boys is going to be big for me (I think).

Have a “Learning” Day!
