One of the days this past week one of our projects fell through.  I guess the organization is no longer running so we doubled up our efforts at the Angel Tree.

We went to our local WalMart and picked 4 names; 3 boys and a girl of course.  It is so sad to see so many tags on them at this point.  Especially when kids are asking for shirts, jackets, and shoes!!!  And I am talking about one kid just asking for one of those not all!!!!!  Imagine what situation they are in to only ask for one shirt.

We ended up getting them what they asked and grabbed a toy and some socks.  It was a little spendy for our situation right now but totally worth it.  How many times do we not even think about spending money on ourselves and these kids are waiting for a coat!

It was really a good feeling to help them out!  If you get a change go over to an Angel Tree and pick some names up.  Very few were asking for expensive things.

By the way, the other day we had a friend call and gave a terrific present to one of our boys (they don’t know it yet though so it’s top secret.  And while we were coming back from an event we stopped for a treat…pie.  We decided to splurge and it ended up that someone paid for our pie.  Can you believe it??????  What a blessing!!!

Have an “Angel Tree” Day!!!!

Today we are going to help clean and organize some rooms at our church.

Please don’t forget to share what you are doing this holiday season for others. It may help us with ideas or organizations to help for next year.

Have a “Caring” Day!

Ok, so we have a new camera (early Christmas gift) so I am still learning how to get them up and going on my posts.  For now you will need to imagine.

For the 1st Day of our Operation 12 Days of Christmas we donated some toys at a local toy drive and we all got to ride in the Fire Truck.

For the 2nd Day we helped a friend.  Can’t explain too much just in case 🙂

Today we are going to make cards for the Veterans.

On a seperate note I got my hair cut and am happy with it. Picture coming soon.

And I got this from Surviving Motherhood (but I don’t think I am surviving today):

When I first started this contest I wanted to pick products that I believed in such as: homemade, enviornmentaly safe, mom made, belief centered, etc.  I picked some dream products and Tate’s was one of them.  I never thought I could Tate’s Bake Shop as I thought they would have too many requests and I would just be a drop in the water.  Well they pulled through and went above and beyond for me!!!

Tate’s not only is offering a Cookie Gift Pack for the winner, but they sent me a whole one as well to sample!!!!  Can you believe it?  I enjoyed my sample, as did my family!  YUMMY!!!  There is a reason they get so much press!  And you can see it here (we are talking Rachel Ray, Newsweek, The Washington Post, ETC)

From my taste buds, these are quality ingredient cookies.  They tasted wonderful and held up longer than anticipated.  When most cookies last a couple of days, and then don’t taste fresh, these taste the same and I don’t know how!  Although, you usually don’t have them around very long!

Whoever wins these is going to have a tasty treat!!!!

They also have a recipe of the month on their website and you can order their products there as well.

To the winner goes a Cookie Gift Pack:

Three 7-oz. boxes, one each of chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, and oatmeal raisin. Approximately 14 cookies in each 7-oz. box.

What a perfect way to entertain over the holidays!

Have a “Cookielicious” Day!

100 Things you can make yourself

by Deborah Ng on August 15th, 2007

Convenience is certainly…well…convenient. Take a trip to just about any type of store and notice how everything is packaged and prepared. It seems the more we advance, the more stuff is done for us. I don’t mind letting someone else do all the work for me, the problem is of course, that convenience is expensive and we’re getting really lazy.
