Have a “Hoppin” Day!

Today we are adding to the week prize bucket an item from The Golden Goat.  Pam at the Golden Goat will choose a wonderful prize from her shop, her best selling Shampoo Bar.  You can visit here to buy your own or for presents too:

http://www.thegoldengoatllc.com/home.html

Shampoo in a bar. This is my all time best seller. It is a curious little thing, but works great on your hair. Customers report that it relieves dandruff, itchy scalp, adds body, shine, and they have no need for a conditioner. Try some for yourself, and you can be the judge.

The added castor oil in the soap sets this bar apart from the other goat milk soaps. Extra moisturizing, and a bit of a softer bar. Be sure to keep all of your natural soaps dry between uses. Put them up on a wire rack or a CEDAR SOAP DISH, which we have available for purchase. As long as the soap gets air all the way around, and doesn’t sit in a puddle of water, it will last longer.

This also doubles as a great pet shampoo. Wash Fido or Fifi regularly to reduce flaking and dander. Leaves the sweet pet with a beautfully shiny, soft coat.

select from Lavender or Pink Grapefruit or Unscented

Here’s more info about the Golden Goat-

we do not use SOYBEAN OIL, or other cheap filler oils, in our soap

Many handmade soaps have soybean as an inexpensive filler oil in their soap recipe, but we refuse to cheapen our product.  We use primarily OLIVE OIL in our soap to create the best soap.  We will never resort to cheap fillers in order to make more money.  We combine the olive oil with coconut and palm oils to firm up the bar and create a nice lather.  We also add castor oil to our shampoo bar to create a super conditioning bar.  A nice portion of shea butter is added to provide moisturizing properties.  No CHEAP FILLERS, only quality ingredients for a superior product.

Our products contain none of the following to harm your skin:

mineral oil, petroleum, parabens, sulfates, glycol, mercury, lead, ethoxylates, formaldehydes, hormones, antibiotics!

So hop on over to their website and order some wonderful homemade gifts.  I am sure anyone getting some of these items in their stocking stuffer would be thrilled!

I found this list at Blisfully Domestic: http://blissfullydomestic.com/blissful-style/five-10-second-makeup-tricks/  and thought they were great tips.  Here they are and don’t forgot to check out that blog!

Five 10 Second Makeup Tricks

September 11th, 2008 by Finn

Just because you’ve been wearing makeup for ages doesn’t mean there isn’t something new for you to learn. Something that can freshen up your everyday look or give you an entirely new one.

Here are five simple (really) tricks you can try; they’ve worked for me, they just might work for you.

1. Set your lash “curl”
Before you put curler to lash, prep with a coat of mascara. It will act as a setting lotion and help hold the curl. Follow with a second coat after curling.

2. Whiten (and brighten) your eyes

A quick and easy way to brighten your eyes is to line the inner bottom of the lid with a white kohl pencil. Surprisingly, it does last.

3. Tame your eyebrows with.. lipstick?
Yes, there are eyebrow gels out there, but if you don’t feel like adding another item to your beauty shopping list, try something you probably already have: lip balm. Make sure it’s a waxy type like Burt’s Bees. Doubt me? Have you ever heard of mustache wax? Just dab a tiny bit on brows and then use your brow brush to comb them in place. An alternative is to use your hair spray-just spray it on a cotton swab or your finger (not in your face!) and apply to the brow.

4. Open up your eyelids
A quick trick for making your eyes look bigger: Use your pinky finger to tap a dot of a light-colored shimmer powder or highlighter on the center of your lid. Be sure to blend it well by tapping it in until it’s barely noticeable.

5. Make your own lip stain
If, like me, you like to play with some color on your lips but don’t really like a very bright mouth, try this: Apply your lipstick, then blot. Then do it again two more times. You’ll end up with a nice lip stain that actually lasts. Add a little lip conditioner or balm on top to keep lips moist because the blotting soaks up the emollients in the lipstick.

This also works with lip gloss, taking off some of the shine so you can wear your favorite shade right into fall.

An extra 10 seconds is all you need to give your face an extra boost!

Aren’t those great tips?

Have a “Gorgeous” Day!

My Max Factor post was one of those interesting experiences.  You can see it here if you didn’t catch it : https://realworldmartha.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/testing-123/   You put yourself out there “In The Raw” sort of speak.  You know I really don’t care as much about what people say as I use to but still it was vulnerable.

It got me thinking about how scary it is to show ourselves without makeup say, yet the people closest in our lives see us that way all the time (unless you are one of those that puts makeup on before anyone else gets up and take it off after they go to bed and then I say you just need help..just kidding.. I think)  But what about the pool?  Don’t people see you without makeup then?  Or worst yet, with “oops my mascara isn’t waterproof” eyes.  Or how about when you are crying?  For most that is not a pretty picture. There aren’t too many that can cry gracefully.

But, here’s the kicker, do I care to make sure I am giving the same when it comes to my attitude?  Do I guard my emotions in the same way as I guard answering the door in my jammies or an unmade face?  OUCH!  I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I do all the time.  I think I protect my outward appearances far greater than my inner ones And in all actuality comes out in very visible ways anyways, don’t they?

So my challenge is to guard my inward self as much as my outward self.  What about you?  Do you struggle in this area?  Do you have a story to share?  Remember we all learn from each other and you know what?  I think we learn more from “In The Raw” than professional photographs.  What do you think?

Have an “Inwardly Gorgeous” Day!

Have you ever heard of BzzAgent?  You join and get to test all these products.  Well, this is what I received and tested:

It was like Christmas.  I was so excited.

Here are the results:

Before with no make-up (I am taking the pic so be kind).  Am I brave or what? :

After -with the Max Factor Products:

The only thing I added was concealer and a little eye liner.  The rest was their products.

I really enjoyed the lipstick as it’s the one that stays on all day.  Just be careful to correct any mistakes quickly or they are harder to come off.  This is my favorite type of lipstick though because I need it to stay on without reapplying all day!

Not too long ago I decided to go into a expensive makeup store and see what all the fuss was.  I got a couple of things and one was mascara that the lady recommended.  I spent way too much (compared to drug store) and was not that impressed.  I now have the two, Max Factor and the expensive one, in my makeup and I choose the Max Factor one every time.

The powder was nice.  I like to use a bronzer since I am so fair skinned, but it was nice and neutral.  The brush was a normal type brush with no particular features that I would say I must have.

I really enjoyed playing with these products and would enjoy trying more from Max Factor.

P.S. – There is a fantastic buy one and get one free deal for Lipfinity and Maxwear lipcolors at Wal-Mart! You and your glamorous friends can find the instant savings, limited time deal in the cosmetics aisle at your local Wal-Mart, but get there fast as this deal will end once supplies run out.

I recently read in Grace  For the Moment, Morning & Evening Edition, by Max Lucado:

“Aging is God’s idea.  It’s one of the ways he keeps us headed heavenward.”

This really struck me as I am starting to really see the aging process this year.  I have started paying more attention to the anti-aging products are out there.  I see the bent toward the younger.  I feel the pressure to change or keep a younger appearance.  Anyone else relate?

The devotion also gave an analogy of tulips and how people don’t purchase “petal wrinkle cream or plastic-leaf surgeons”.  He goes on to talk about how “tulip lovers rejoice the minute the bulb weakens” as it’s about to bloom.

Max Lucado goes on to say how, as we age, the angels get more excited.  “He’ll (She’ll) be coming home soon.”

So what so you think?  Does this change your thinking about aging?

Here is Max Lucado’s website if you are interested: http://maxlucado.com/

Have a “One Day Closer to Heaven” Day!

I stumbled upon this, but can’t remember where.  This is a website that you can check out how safe your cosmetics are for you.

Have a “Colorful” Day!

B

The “B” tip for the day will be for BEAUTY.

Take time for a Mom Spa Night.  Either do by yourself or with some friends.

Gather up –

  • A Robe (if you own one)
  • Slippers
  • Pitcher of Water with Lemon Slices (clean the skin of the lemon first) and maybe some Tea
  • Some Light Food such as Fruit, Veggies, Bread/Crackers, and Cheese
  • Soft Music
  • Candles or Soften the lights
  • A Journal (if alone) and make sure to write down 10 of your Blessings if with some friends have everyone go around the room to give their list of blessings
  • Powdered Milk or 5 tea bags for a nice bath (if it’s just you)
  • Something to soak your feet in
  • Make a homemade beauty product to try (I have a couple of recipes below that you can try)
  • Items for a manicure or pedicure
  • Maybe a Chick Flick
  • Lotion (get your favorite)

Fresh Face Cleanser

1 Tbsp Plain or Vanilla Yogurt

3/4 c Lemon Juice

Mix together and ally to face.  Rinse with warm water

Hand Softner

Wash hands in warm water.

1 Tbsp Honey

1 Tbsp Olive Oil

Massage into hands.  Cover hands with saran wrap, baggies, or cotton gloves for 30 min.

It may seem like this is bigger than just a tip but the point is to take time for yourself.  Our Mom job require us to be refreshed and feeling good about ourselves.  So plan your day now and put it on the calendar!  That’s an order 🙂

DON’T FORGET – If you ping or link back to my post on your blog (any tip A-Z) you will enter for a chance to win in my first contest.  If you don’t have a blog, leave a comment and let me know that you don’t have a blog and I will put you in the running.

Have a “Beautiful” Day
